Experience

Current Title: Assistant Manager,
Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas District, Jackson, Alabama, 1974 to Present.

 

Directed the successful plan of verifying supplier invoices and supply portfolios and am responsible for natural gas sales of over 75 million dollars during the fiscal year 2005.

 

Designed and implemented a software system, trained users, and developed procedures to integrate the computerized system with the billing accounting systems and gas flow calculations.

 

Managed the gas control department, which includes monitoring the SCADA system for line breaks, regulator failures or RTU problems on a pipeline system of over 175 miles of transmission lines and over 400 miles of distribution lines in Clarke, Washington, Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Choctaw and Wilcox counties in Alabama.

 

Prepare governmental reports for the Department of Energy and assisted in the preparation of other reports for state and Federal agencies.

Maintain Daily nominations, balancing and scheduling on three major pipelines
• Gulf South
• Florida Gas Transmission
• Southern Natural

Was part of a cross-functional team that engineered and built a twenty-one mile hydrogen pipeline system and oversaw the financial payback of the pipeline. At the time of its construction it was the longest hydrogen gas pipeline in the United States.


Negotiated monthly and long-term natural gas contracts with industrial customer and suppliers as well as obtaining fixed priced financial instruments.

Lower Alabama Gas District; May 2006 to Present.

 

Founded and developed as part of the management team the successful start-up of Lower Alabama Gas District. A gas district, which is a joint action agency, set up between the districts of Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas District and South Alabama Gas District for the purpose, among others, of acquiring long-term natural gas supply for their member municipalities and their customers as well as other public gas systems throughout the state of Alabama and outside the state.

 

Public Gas Partners, Inc. (PGP) is a Georgia not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to acquire reliable and economical long-term natural gas supplies for participating agencies and large public natural gas or power systems. PGP was formed to secure gas supplies through reserve acquisitions and/or secured prepayments and also may acquire storage assets and other strategic assets. Lower Alabama Gas is one of seven municipal owned systems that founded PGP.
